About Me

Thank you for stopping by! I wish we could sit down together, and get to know each other over a cup of tea.

Don't you just love to hear the story of how someone came to faith? When did the love of Jesus seep into a heart and life?

I've been blogging for over a year now, and thought it would be fun to share a little more of who I am with all of you.

And in the process, I hope that you will feel comfortable to share a little of your story with me as well.

I was raised in a Christian home, and my Mom told me that I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was only 4 years old. But when I was 9 years old, and sitting in my Sunday School class listening to my favorite teacher praying, I suddenly realized that I could not remember telling Jesus that I wanted to live for him. That conviction caused me to stand up in front of all my friends and say that I wanted to spend my life following Jesus forever.  It's been an adventure ever since.

Have you ever felt that nudging in your heart that stirs something you never felt before?  I believe that God sends His Holy Spirit to call us into His Presence.  And Jesus opened the way, through His death on the cross, to bring us  back into fellowship with God. His death was the sacrifice made for the punishment of my sin--my sin sent Him there. But here's the thing:  Because of His GREAT LOVE, He would have died even if I were the only person on this earth! And HE died that death for you too, my friend.

I met my husband during my senior year in High School, and through a beautiful story of God's creation, we found a deep love that has lasted a lifetime.  Even after more than 3 decades of marriage, we know that we were meant to walk this pathway of life together.  We've been through beautiful and sweet, but also ugly and struggling days.  Through all of them, God never left our sides, redeeming all of our mistakes, and teaching us more about Grace and Mercy.

If ever there could be a chapter in the Bible that I could count for my "Life Verse" it would surely be Isaiah 55. Every verse has found a fulfillment at one point or another in my life. But these two especially have been foundational for my trust and walk with Jesus:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

So often His Ways have seemed mysterious or confusing to me, as I walked through them. But in looking back, I have seen His Grace and Protection covering me all the way.

And in these last few years, as I have obeyed His urging in my heart to begin this blog, I have seen His hand upholding me in ways I could not have imagined.  These days through Chronic Illness: first with Rheumatoid Arthritis, then Fibromyalgia and Osteoporosis, along with many accompanying difficulties, have been a struggle, to say the least.  But the kindness of fellow bloggers, and the community of believers that I've found here has been such an encouragement to my heart.  And the words that God has given me here? Well, they've been for my own understanding and help just as much as for the sharing.

But isn't that just like Jesus? He uses the comfort that He brings our way to overflow and comfort those around us.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Is there a longing in your heart to understand more about Grace?  I would love to pray with you, and share comments about this Faith-filled life.  Send me an email, and I promise that I will respond.  I do not have all the answers, but I know the ONE who has every question of ours already logged in His book. And HE is the one that I would love to share with you!
